During a patient’s initial visit, our clinical team will examine the overall health of a patient’s mouth. Comprehensive visits include full mouth x rays, oral cancer screenings, and periodontal, occlusal, and caries examinations.

Maintenance appointments help promote healthy gums and teeth by removing plaque that can cause decay and gum infection. In addition, these visits allow clinicians to monitor oral health, discuss prevention techniques, and clean areas of the mouth where a toothbrush cannot reach.

Periodontal disease can be detrimental to a patient’s overall oral and bodily health. Once health has been restored, it is important to establish a maintenance plan with your hygienist for routine periodontal examinations, scaling, and root planing to prevent future problems.

Often found on children’s teeth, sealants protect the chewing surfaces and enamel of the tooth which are often at risk of decay. Sealants can also be applied to adult teeth as an additional form of protection against damage.

Regular fluoride application helps eliminate root sensitivity and should be applied once every six months. Our patients have found it helpful to have a series of fluoride treatments to reduce their sensitivity and prevent potential cavities from forming.
